THE THREE LOCH DRIVE
DUKES PASS
The 'Duke's Pass' is the steep and winding public road which links Aberfoyle to the Trossachs and Brig O'Turk. It was built by a Duke of Montrose to link the different parts of this estate and to Loch Katrine. As you climb out of Aberfoyle the road takes you passed the old Aberfoyle Slate Quarry. Continue on your journey and you begin to catch glimpses of Ben Venue, Ben A'An, Ben Ledi, and Loch Drunkie. As Loch Achray comes into view with the three Ben's as a backdrop you will appreciate the true beauty of the Trossachs.
Opened in 1977 to mark the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II it consists of seven and a a half miles of winding forest road. Enter from the Duke's Pass road to enjoy superb views across the forest towards the Trossachs. The Forest Drive closes over the winter months between September and April.
