WESTEND OF GLASGOW FESTIVAL
Westend festival is one of Glasgow`s highlights. June 2010 I had the pleasure of watching the parade and enjoying some of the performers in Glasgow`s Kelvingrove park. The crowds are large but you can always find a wee spot to
watch the parade go by. The festival first took place in 1996. It was all
Michael Dale`s idea . Starting as a local festival on Glasgow`s famous Byres road. It is now Glasgow`s biggest and best festival. With events running for
16 days.
Westend festival carnival parade takes place every June and is the second biggest carnival event in Great Britain . It is now known as Scotland`s Mardi Gras.
