THE ROCKIES BY TRAIN
Bairdstravel had the thrill of travelling from Vancouver to Edmonton by train. We split the journey in the wonderful town of Jasper.
At first we had fears of such a long journey cooked up in a train but the Canadian rail company Via know how to look after their customers.
We enjoyed breakfast and lunch on the train and the cost was no more
than normal town prices.
Half an hour before departure we had to book our cases in.
We set off from Vancouver late evening . We had no idea what like spending 20 hours on a train would be but it end up being a great experience. Weather was sunny when we left Vancouver .
We were on the The Canadian bound for Toronto but we were getting off in Jasper. Deep in the Rocky mountains.
This is a travel experience like no other . Trains was full of fellow travellers from around the World .
KAMLOOPS
THE PYRAMID FALLS
The weather was wet so the scenery was was not totally visable. The first main stop was Kamloops. Mount Robson was not visable.
Breakfast was at 7.00 was fine and not too expensive.
After breakfast we start to see the spectacular Rocky mountains andwe wonder how the mountain goats can cling to the mountain side.
We finally reach Jasper at 17.30. One hour 30mins late
Arriving Jasper looking a bit knackered .It had been a sleepless night but had a good breakfast and lunch so it was time to find our new home for four days in Jasper .
TRAVELLING ON FROM JASPER TO EDMONTON
The Rocky Mountains, often called the Rockies, are a major mountain range in western North America. The Rocky Mountains stretch more than 4,800 kilometres (2,980 mi) from the northernmost part of British Columbia, in Canada, to New Mexico, in the United States. The range's highest peak is Mount Elbert in Colorado at 14,440 feet (4,401 m) above sea level.

CLEANING THE WINDOWS FOR GOOD PHOTO`S
Though part of North America's Pacific Cordillera, the Rockies are distinct from the Pacific Coast Ranges (as named in Canada) or Pacific Mountain System (as known in the United States), which are located immediately adjacent to the Pacific coast.
