TYNDRUM Tourists,Hikers and Bikers
Tyndrum in Gaelic translates to the house on the ridge. In the summer Tyndrum is buzzing with travellers stopping for rest, relief and refreshments. The A82 passes through Tyndrum between Glasgow and Fort William, whilst the A85 to Oban splits off just north of the village. There are two train stations with the West Highland line passing through the village. West Highland Way also passes through Tyndrum. Busy place for such a small
village. The photographs are from a day trip January 2012 . Weather was as you would expect for a Scottish winter.
One of the most famous points of interest in Tyndrum is the famous pitstop the Green Welly. With an superb collection of whisky.
Got talking to one of the staff in the Green Welly and she kindly directed me to the most expensive bottles. Thanks but no thanks don`t like the stuff.
Had lunch here . A roll in sausage and mug of coffee. Superb. Staff were very pleasent.
Whilst having lunch we watched the small birds having theirs out of the Real food cafe .
Paddy`s -- Great place to have a beer after a day on the West Highland Way.

On route at Tarbet we made friends with a long necked bird. Swans and geese are very tame at the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.
