T in the Park is a major music festival that has been held annually in Scotland since 1994. It is named after its main sponsor, the brewing company Tennents. It was originally held at Strathclyde Park, but since 1997 has been held at a disused airfield in Balado, in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. T in the Park was originally a two-day festival but since 2007 has taken place over three days, and introduced in 2008 was the chance to upgrade a weekend camping ticket to allow camping access on the Thursday - the day before any musicians performed. The festival is promoted by Big Day Out.

As well as the main seven stages of music, there are large camping areas to cater for the majority of festival-goers who stay for the duration of the event. There are also various concession stalls and shops provided, as well as other attractions, such as a large funfair, complete with Big Wheel.

Balado is a park and former airfield within the Perth and Kinross council area of Scotland. It is now the venue of the annual T in the Park music festival. Poultry sheds of Balado Poultry Farm now occupy the old concrete runways of the airfield. On the southern perimeter of the site is the Balado Bridge NATO Satellite Ground Station, which closed in 2006.
If you simply 'must' take the car, then please car-share where possible. Not only will you have folks to keep you company and chip in for fuel but you can make your journey to the festival more eco-friendly.
Car park tickets are required in advance every year. They are available to buy from Ticketmaster .
Official Citylink coach is absolutely the fastest and greenest way to come to T in the Park. These coach services will drop you off at the festival entrance so no long walks from the car parks with all your camping gear

On a special weekend in July every year, Balado becomes the location for the 5th largest town in Scotland. This temporary landscape of bright nylon creates our very own T in the Park tartan and from the sky looks like a hundred Saltires spread out across the fields.
