We used to spend our holidays at Gran and Granpaw Baird`s house in Slamannan. Grandfather worked for British Rail and was the Station master in Slamannan . Station has long been closed down
Mum,Dad, June and myself would leave by bus from Glasgow`s
Buchannan bus station . 2 hours later we were there.
Slamannan, a village and a parish of SE Stirlingshire. The village stands near the right bank of the Avon, 5¾ miles SSW of Falkirk
The Bairds lived at the Haven Bank Street right next to the school.
