Yvonne at Loch Lomond
ROWARDENNAN
Bairdstravel headed to the east shore of Loch Lomond to show new arrival Jessica the wonderful scenery. We travelled past Balmaha ,Malarkey bay to Rowardennan. We have been here many times before . This is the starting point for a walk up Ben Lomond .

Jessica enjoying small lochside hotel .

Rowardennan is at the northern end of the public road, but the West Highland Way passes through the village and continues north along the side of the loch. Rowardennan has a hostel and camping for hikers on the West Highland Way. A small passenger ferry crosses the loch to Inverbeg on the opposite shore.

A lovely setting right on the banks of the famous Loch Lomond, the views from our hostel lounge are breathtaking. Set in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park the hostel offers great facilities and an unrivalled location. Laze on the beach, fish, or walk up Scotland's most southerly Munro, Ben Lomond (974m, right behind the hostel). A boat cruise up the loch is the most relaxing way to explore this area, although many choose to walk the West Highland Way which passes by the hostel. We are a welcome stop off point for those about to attempt the next 20 miles to our hostel in Crianlarich
