| BOB THE DRIVER IN PARIS Bairdstravel would like to thank Bob the driver for letting us see his photo`s from Paris . This was Bobs first trip with Glasgow`s Famous Gallon Club. He certainly entered into the spirit of things and is welcome to join us in future trips. He are some of his Photo`s from the trip. The Arc de Triomphe is a monument in Paris, France that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, also known as the Place de l'Étoile It is at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. The triumphal arch honors those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars. On the inside and the top of the arc there are all of the names of generals and wars fought. Underneath is the tomb of the unknown soldier from World War I. Bob at the Eiffel Tower Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the Eiffel Tower is the tallest building in Paris. More than 200,000,000 people have visited the tower since its construction in 1889, including 6,719,200 in 2006, making it the most visited paid monument in the world. Including the 24 m (79 ft) antenna, the structure is 325 m (1,063 ft) high (since 2000), which is equivalent to about 81 levels in a conventional building.
