Portree
During our Scottish roadtrip we crossed the bridge to wonderful Skye .Our base was Portree. Portree is a crakin wee town with plenty of pubs and plenty of places to eat.
We booked our bed and breakfast through the information centre.Which is right on the main square.

Foreland and the view from the garden T
Amazed at the amout of tourist the town gets. The day we were in the town there was a cruise ship in .Portree has a harbour, fringed by cliffs, with a pier designed by Thomas Telford. Attractions in the town include the Aros centre which celebrate the island's Gaelic heritage. The town also serves as a centre for tourists exploring the island.
The Royal Hotel is the site of MacNab's Inn, the last meeting place of Flora Mcdonald and Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1746.

First night we.have a wander round Portree and have dinner in a local bar.
Second night we had a wonderful dinner at the Pier hotel . This was our favourite pub
while in Skye . The locals are friendly and the beer and food is good.

The beer is expensive but the view is worth the cost of a least one pint.
