MY LONDON BLOG
Set off from home at 8.30am.Gee Bee drops me at the airport.
Check everything is ok at Checkin and head to the gate for departure.
While sitting awaiting flight departure. I notice that my flight is not up on the screens. I enquire at the gate and the girl says oh that flight is cancelled. I tell the girl it would be better if fellow passengers
were made aware of the situation. She grunts.
Head to the Easyjet desk where there is a very long queue .
When I finally get to the desk I take the option to fly to London
Stansted but it doesn`t leave till 18.20 . So it`s back home.
At 4.00 Lorna takes me over to the Airport again. The flight leaves bang on time.
We land on time and I head off for the bus to the city .
More bad luck there`s not a bus for another hour .
An hour later the EASYBUS turns up . Easy that`s a joke
The bus takes about 1hour and 30mins to get to St John`s wood Northern London.
Why it took that long who knows . We have take a diversion due to road works . As we travel down this small street we notice a red london bus
coming towards us and the bus in front of us decides to squeeze passed.
oh no I think to myself . The two doubledeckers are jammed.
Traffic is now stuck at both directions. After 30mins I decided to head for the Underground . Walk down to St John`s wood tube station .
I have to head to the Bayswater Area but to my disgust the Circle and District lines are closed down . Just when I thought nothing else could go wrong .
I take another line to Paddington and have a 20mins walk to the Hotel .
I enter the hotel to find there was no one to check me in.
By now I am on the edge until a young girl turns up to check me in .
My room is like a matchbox but it will do to kip in. I head round to the local
pub for last orders .
Then to Burgerking for my first meal since lunch. Its not very warm

I woke early and opened the curtain to see the view. A brick wall
I would never stay there again . After breakfast which was ok
I head off to do a tour of Wembley . I had to change my booking to the Sunday .
Walk to Bayswater station . Take the tube to Bond street because of line closures . Then change to go on the blackline .
We go five stops and then the train terminates I change trains GO ONE STOP and I HAVE TO GET ON REPLACEMENT BUS TO WEMBLEY .The whole twenty min journey has taken 1 hour 45 mins . I`m late and totally pissed off by now.
I run to Wembley as I am late but it`s ok because Stuart our guide has held back the start of the tour.
The Tour was excellant . I think it was the only thing that went ok .
From Wembley I head to Earls court for the Travel show . I wanted to see the Charley Boorman show .. Charley was in Long way down and long way round . Long Way Down is a television series, book and DVD documenting a journey undertaken by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman, on which they rode south through 18 countries from John o' Groats in Scotland to Cape Agulhas in South Africa via Europe and Africa in 2007. It is a follow-up to the Long Way Round trip of 2004, when the pair rode east from London to New York via Eurasia and North America.
By the time I get there I join a long queue and you have guested it . I get
six from the start and I AM TOLD THE HALL IS FULL . Shit
A quick look round the travel show and I head back to the hotel to collect my hotel to collect my bag.
A walk through Kennsington gardens /Hyde park . Do a bit of siteseeing
By this time I decide to go for a beer . Tube to Marble arch where I have to catch the bus to Luton airport.
Order my beer up and the girl lets the pint slip through her hands.
It smashs on the floor . WHAT A TRIP THIS HAS BEEN
I leave in plenty of time to catch the bus back to Luton Airport .
after 30mins I begin to worry. 45 mins no bus
Where is the bus. I decide to take the other bus company [ the green line]
which I wish I had booked in the first place . Don`t ever book EASY BUS
They are anything but easy.
The diver lets me away without paying.
Get to the airport where it has started to snow ,
Rush to the gate as I am late by now . Look at the monitors which tells me
the take off is delayed 20mins .
Then it flicks again delayed to 12.30am . Just when you think nothing else could happen .
The next few hours are spent trying to avoid this raving loney who wants to tell me his lifestory.
Fall asleep on the plane . We arrive in Glasgow .Which is covered in thick snow. Home for 02.00 . Straight to kip as I am up at 05.30 for work .
A week end like this makes you think travel can be a pain the the a----
