Piazzale Michelangelo { Michelangelo square} plaza on a hilltop with a great view of the city (go there by bus) or climb the stairs and paths from the Lungarno della Zecca. From the beautiful terrace of the Piazzale Michelangelo one can admire the most magnificent views of Florence lying in the Arno valley, surrounded by gently sloping hills. In the centre of the square stands a copy of David statue by Michelangelo

Bairdstravel enjoyed a few drinks in the terrace bar on the Square . The views were out of this world .We took the number 12 bus the long way round. Later found out there were stairs from the riverside.
