MUNICH 2010
Bairdstravel joined Glasgow`s famous Gallon club`s trip to the German city of Munich.
Day I
Edinburgh to Munich
We left Glasgow 11.00am .Travelled to Edinburgh by train .It takes under an hour. Few beers in the bar next to the station. Taxi to Airport.
After a short flight we arrive at Munich Airport.
We are met at the airport by Keith Wood . Keith is a friend of mine from Twitter. He kindly arranged for a taxi for my group . Keith also gave us
info about getting to the city . We arrange to meet the next day.
The taxi take us to our hotel in Landshut.
The Weihenstephaner Stuben was our base for our stay.

After dropping our bags at our digs we head into Landshut to have a few beers. The Weihenstephaner Stuben hotel is very handy for the train station
but a bit away for the centre . We ended up having a few beers in the Irish pub.

Day2
After breakfast we head to the train station. Keith had given us a note of the train times. The train was so busy with beer fest folk that we can`t get on.
Next one was not as packed . We arrive at the Central station and Keith is there to meet us. We decide to do a tour of the famous Allianz Arena

The Allianz Arena is a football stadium in the north of Munich, Germany. The two professional Munich football clubs FC Bayern Munich and TSV 1860 München have played their home games at Allianz Arena since the start of the 2005–06 season. After the tour it`s back to the city centre for a bite to eat and a few beers

We spend the night in the Marienplatz .
At the center of the city is the Marienplatz—a large open square named after the Mariensäule, a Marian column in its centre—with the Old and the New Town Hall.

Its tower contains the Rathaus-Glockenspiel. Three gates of the demolished medieval fortification have survived to this day—the Isartor in the east, the Sendlinger Tor in the south and the Karlstor in the west of the inner city. The Karlstor leads up to the Stachus, a grand square dominated by the Justizpalast (Palace of Justice) and a fountain.
