As I headed of on an another great adventure my thoughts took me back to growing up in the west with no knowledge of what hides behind behind the Iron Curtain . Although the phrase was not well received at the time, as the Cold War strengthened it gained popularity as a short-hand reference to the division of Europe. The Iron Curtain served to keep people in and information out, and the metaphor eventually was widely accepted throughout the West.
As a kid I always wanted to know what it would be like to grow up Russia or the USSR as it was known then .
Now the Cold war is over and all travel barriers are now
removed we have the chance to head East to finally
meet the people of the new modern Russia .
I was was joined by comrades Bryden and Murdoch on the Trip .
