Sorry to say I have only visited Prague in the Czech Republic and hopefully in the future I will venture futher out of the capital.Prague is one of my favourite capital cities of the world . Love the place.

Prague is the capital of Czech Republic and for many centuries has been significant culture and trade centre. Contemporary area (extent) of the city is 496 square kilometres and almost 1,2 mil of inhabitants live there. Prague is one administration unit which is divided to 10 city districts and 57 city parts. Prague is considered to be one of the most beautiful city of Europe and therefore is no wonder that almost 3 mil. people come for a visit every year. In the year 1992 historical city centre with the unique panorama of Prague Castle became part of the World Culture Heritage of UNESCO

The Czech Republic is a landlocked country in Central Europe. The country borders Poland to the northeast, Germany to the west and northwest, Austria to the south and Slovakia to the east. The capital and largest city is Prague (Czech: Praha). The country is composed of the historic regions of Bohemia and Moravia, as well as parts of Silesia.

The Czech Republic has been a member of NATO since 1999 and of the European Union since 2004. From 1 January 2009 to 1 July 2009, the Czech Republic held the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The historic city of Prague is the primary tourist attraction, as the city is also the most common point of entry for tourists visiting other parts of the country.

Most other cities in the country attract significant numbers of tourists, but the spa towns, such as Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně and Františkovy Lázně, are particularly popular holiday destinations. Other popular tourist sites are the many castles and chateaux, such as those at Karlštejn Castle, Český Krumlov and the Lednice–Valtice area. Away from the towns, areas such as Český ráj, Šumava and the Krkonoše Mountains attract visitors seeking outdoor pursuits.
