Nearly never made Paris 2010
Started with a week in wonderful Antigua.
Week 1
The 3 's' swimming, snorkelling and sightseeing.
We stayed at a hotel on Dickenson Bay which was right on the beach.
After a week in heaven we returned with great memories, a bit of a suntan and tons of mozzie bites.
Our plan was to recover from Jetlag then get ready for a few days in the french capital Paris.
Week 2 Monday
While I was updating your favourite website my daughter noticed that my left foot was very swollen.
Paris Panic .
I headed up to Clydebank Heathcentre where the doc measured my leg with a tape and found one leg was broader than the other. She said there was a chance I had DVT from my long flight from Antigua.
Deep vein thrombosis (also known as deep-vein thrombosis or deep venous thrombosis
I headed straight to the Western infirmary. By this time our trip to Paris looked a non starter. After blood tests and a X ray I was taken to a ward to wait for the results.
The nurses joked about the chances of me flying the next day.
At midnight the doctor came and said that I could go home as long as I returned the next day for ultrasound scanning of the leg veins. The doctor thought I may have Cellulitis from the mozzie bites. By now it was 12.30 at night and I was flying to Paris the following afternoon.
Tuesday
Waited by the phone for hosp to inform me of scan time.At 09.00am the phone rings and I have to get right up to the hospital. After a short wait I was scanned and the results were no DVT.
so I was FIT TO FLY. Superb I have only Cellulitis. LOL
Cellulitis is caused by a type of bacteria entering the skin, usually by way of a cut, abrasion,or break in the skin. This break does not need to be visible. insect bites I was given antibiotics to be taken four times a day.
By now it was 11.30 so it was home then off to Prestwick for our flight to Paris.
Tuesday night we finally arrived in wonderful Paris.

Friday
