Today we walked the Lochside walk between Balmaha and Rowardennan in perfect Sunshine. For April it was unusual to have
superb weather. Goodtime of the year to walk the east shore of Loch Lomond

Balmaha is a hamlet on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond in the council area of Stirling, Scotland.
The name Balmaha comes from the Gaelic for St Maha's Place which suggests the village may have ancient origins, perhaps as a hermit's residence. Today it is a popular tourist destination for picnickers and day trippers from Glasgow as well as walkers on the West Highland Way. Boat trips leave from Balmaha for Inchcailloch Island in the middle of the loch.
Milarrochy Bay (pronounced Mlariky Bay) is in Scotlands First National Park, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. On the beautiful east shore of Loch Lomond, you can walk along the shore of the Loch to sandy coves.
Balmaha to Rowardennan walk is seven miles long. The path heads in a northerly direction alongside the eastern shore of Loch Lomond passing through Rowardennan Forest before reaching the village Rowardennan.
West Highland Way
Rowardennan is a small hamlet on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond in Scotland.
Rowardennan is at the northern end of the public road, but the West Highland Way passes through the village and continues north along the side of the loch. Rowardennan has a hostel and camping for hikers on the West Highland Way. A small passenger ferry crosses the loch to Inverbeg on the opposite shore.
